Phase 2 Update
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ,
As we seek to navigate the pandemic situation, we most of all seek to remain faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the great commission as we reach out with the Gospel to our church family and our community. I wish to thank the whole church staff and the members of Christ Lutheran for pulling together and helping one another out through all of this. You’re such a blessing and gift of God!
I’d like to share that we’re offering an additional church service, every Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. We are reserving this service for those who may be a little older (55+), those with compromised immune systems, and those who are at higher risk. Along with this, we’re asking all those in attendance to please mask up and practice social distancing. The elders and pastors will also adhere to proper guidelines for health safety as always.
Now for the usual disclaimer: as per the CDC recommendations, we’re asking that if you have experienced any symptoms in the past 24 hours not come to church or go out in public and to please contact your health provider. Also, we ask everyone to do their part to wash hands and use hand sanitizer, which is available in the pews and elsewhere. We aren’t shaking hands, etc., and there is no offering collection in church, although there is a box in the narthex, and you can continue to give online or by mail.
Joyfully, we will offer communion every week, both on Thursday and Sunday. The elders will dismiss you by pew, and we will have one side come up first, and when that side is completed, the other side of the church will be ushered up. Once you are ushered forward you will see signs on the floor to help you practice social distancing (although family groups can stand together). For communion, you line up all the way across the front of the church, and then the pastor will dismiss you after each row is communed.
Of course, we will still have our 9 a.m. Sunday worship service for all, and we will leave facemasks up to the discretion of those who come to worship that day. On Sunday, we have the option to park in the parking lot by the bell tower and listen to the worship service on 96.3 FM. You will be communed by driving under the overhang by the bell tower, and there will be volunteers to assist with parking. We will continue to offer videos of the worship service each week for those who can watch them on our Facebook page, etc., and at all services we will be sitting “every other pew.”
It is my fervent prayer that God keeps you firmly established in the faith and fed with His Word. If there is anything we can do, please give us a call. Take good care and stay strong in the LORD!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Daryn
