Identity Protector
Identity Protector
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:28-30
As hard as we try to be careful to protect our personal information, many experts believe that most of our Social Security Numbers have been compromised. I experienced this reality recently when my own identity was stolen. As a result I have had to fill out much necessary paperwork and make numerous phone calls to government agencies, banks, credit bureaus, and credit card companies. I have felt helpless watching someone “out there” opening bank accounts in my name and gambling with my credit card. It has been frustrating and frightening. The good news is that every agency and organization I have contacted has been helpful and kind. They know and understand the frequency of identity theft. Unfortunately, there are many people dealing with the same or much worse scenarios than mine.
I have always found the words in John 10:28-30 to be comforting. I remember how they helped my dad when our pastors read them to him in the hospital shortly before his death. I find them especially reassuring today as I think about my own identity far above and beyond my Social Security number or other earthly identifiers.
Here is great news for me and for you: We are children of our Heavenly Father. That is who we are. That is our true identity. We are so much more than just a number. We, as children of God and heirs have eternal life because Jesus Christ gave His life to save ours.
The good news continues: Our identity is secure thanks to Jesus, our Savior. We do not need LifeLock, Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax to protect our true identity. “No one can snatch us out of our Father’s Hand.”
Praise God today that you are loved by the Almighty Identity Protector! May you live in His Peace and serve Him with great joy.
God’s Blessings,
Tammy
