Happy Labor Day
Happy Labor Day
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.”
Psalm 19:1-2
According to the U.S. Department of Labor website, Labor Day “constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”
Labor Day is a great day to celebrate hard workers and great achievements. But it is also a great day to celebrate God – the One who gave you the talents, interests, and experiences needed to carry out your job. God has laid out a great plan for you and for me. What an honor it is to serve Him and to be a part of His Master Plan.
If you are like me, you will also spend at least a portion of this Labor Day resting. It is good to take a break from our labors while still celebrating them. It is healthy to temporarily set aside our very long lists of things that need to be done. If you have an opportunity to rest this Labor Day, why not pause and take in the work of God’s Hands? Thank Him for this beautiful place He has given us to live.
Dear Lord, We thank You for Your Mighty Plans. We are honored to serve You. We are blessed to have jobs that not only allow us opportunities to use our skills, but also provide for the needs of ourselves and our loved ones. Thank You for the works of Your Hands. Your creation is amazing! Thank You for Your great and unending Love – a Love that forgives, guides, and saves. Teach us to follow You all the days of our lives. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
God’s Blessings,
Tammy
