God\'s Word Works
God’s Word Works!
“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11
I have found these words from Isaiah to be a great comfort as I have prepared Bible studies and confirmation lessons over the years. Here is how I grasp this simple, yet powerful message: God is in control. His Word will not return to Him empty. It’s not at all about me. When I follow the LORD’s lead and share His Word in its Truth and Purity, it will accomplish what He desires and it will achieve the purpose for which HE sent it. God’s Word works!!
That message was made clear to me again this past Sunday night. It happened to be the last week of our Night Light Youth Bible study. All year we have been talking about our “Identity” as children of God. Our theme song was “Who You Say I Am” by Hillsong Music. The first night of our study back in September, we listened to the song, talked about our identity, and shared our thoughts. At that point, our answers were truthful but not very deep or complete. After one full school year of reading God’s Word together, God has opened our eyes to see His Truth in a much fuller way. His Word has been at work in our hearts.
So this past Sunday when we talked once again about our identity, it was wonderful to hear the profound and God-inspired answers. (Thank you to Alyssa Portz, Dylan Portz, and Sandi Frederickson for granting me permission to share them with you.)
“I am perfect (in Christ). I’m a child of God. God is on my side. I’m chosen. He has prepared a place for me.”
“I am special. I am free of the bondage of self. I have gifts to offer because those gifts came from You – You who are all-knowing. He loves me as I am – as I grow and as I learn. You are for me and not against me (so who am I to be against me?). I am Your child. There is a place saved just for me because of Your sacrifice and unconditional love.”
“I am a child of God’s. Jesus died for ME! There is a place for me in heaven. I am chosen. You are not against me.”
You also are God’s child. He loves you and He saved you. Be encouraged to search His Word for answers and watch the amazing ways He will open your eyes to His Truths. Discover for yourself how God’s Word works!
God’s Blessings,
Tammy
