The Belt of Truth: Psalm 131
Oct 7, 2024 • Pastor Andrew Belt
This psalm presents David as one who does not see the things of this faith as below him. But as one who submits himself to the words and promises of the Lord.
This humility inspires hope and begs for vindication to come from God. This is the true sense of the first verse of this psalm which desires us to not run into speculation but to rather trust as a child does who quietly is content with mother.
We can hear Jesus talk of children being the greatest in God’s kingdom in verse two and can even remember how our Lord himself humbled himself in this way by becoming an infant dependent on his mother to be cared for.
Finally we are exhorted to hope in the LORD.
