The Belt of Truth: Psalm 70

Psalm 70 is nearly word for word from Psalm 40:13-17. The reason being perhaps that David had multiple prayers or that those who collected them drew from a very loved and memorable psalm.
Whatever the reason, this psalm is designated for worship during the memorial offering. An offering that was burnt to God and which Leviticus tells us that God would remember the worshipper as this was offered, think of Noah when God made the covenant.
This psalm is also urgent. It wastes no words to tell us of the need for God to act quickly.
But yet in the urgency, David prays for others, that they would also know God’s salvation and rejoice in it.
We also then learn that prayer is offered by beggars who petition the King for everything they need.
