The Belt of Truth: Psalm 11

An island surrounded by a storm has to suffer the buffets of wind and waves. The shelters on it are threatened by being consumed. What should those who live on it do?
Psalm 11 takes this imagery with the ideas of the wicked besieging the city. Will they stay or flee?
Ultimately the righteous put their trust and hope in God who is able to see and deliver them and who sits secure in the heavens.
Using imagery and words that hearken back to Sodom and Gomorrah, the righteous trust in God’s vindication.
Jesus, who is the true example of this, becomes the image of the righteous upon the cross, suffering the cup of God’s wrath so that we might have refuge in Him.
