The Belt of Truth: Psalm 36
Jun 26, 2023 • Pastor Andrew Belt
Psalm 36 has Transgression personified and speak to David to show him the life of someone bound in sin. It is a life of pride and self-flattery which causes them to be blind to God and also causes them to be stuck in their own small world of self.
But David, the Servant of the Lord, catches the eye of something much more grand and wonderful. And that is the steadfast love of the Lord. David is drawn to that description of the beauty and awe of God’s grace and love that are for us in Jesus Christ, in whose light we see light and in whose presence is delight and the fountain of life.
David concludes by desiring God to make know this steadfast love to him and to his people always, so that we will not sink down in the mire of our sin.
